CONVENTION
Condor XIII -
March 3rd - 5th 2006, San Diego, California
Mathew Clayson has
been asked by the Condor XIII Science Fiction/gaming convention to organize
a LEGO room for the con - sort of a mini LEGO
convention. Therell be several LEGO themed
activities.
Open
building contest:
A random assortment of LEGO will be on hand,
but we can always use more. This is similar
to the Jr Master builders contest at LL, but
no size limets. Prizes awarded.
Model
and MOC displays:
Any theme, but SF and Fantasy encouraged. And
prizes for the MOCs. Additional SF related models
will be on hand for those that want to build.
LEGO
Gaming:
BrikWars and Pirates throughout the weekend.
Materials for both games will be provided, but
you are welcome to bring items of your own.
LEGO
train display: Mathew will be running a loop of track around
the perimeter of the room, and bringing some
train stock. You are welcome to run his trains
or bring some of your own.
It's
always been hard to find good modern weaponry for minifigs
- you can build facsimiles out of minifig tools and other
bits if you're clever, or buy the cut-rate clone brand versions
if you're not - but luckily a new custom shop has just opened
up to fill the niche.
BrickArms, the "modern minifig armory," specializes
in high-quality modern and WWII minifig firearms.
The Scout’s motto is “Get Prepared” - it’s a
tragedy to miss out on some righteous destruction
because the grunts are too hasty to do the proper
prep work. On their honor, they do their best to
do their duty to facilitate their comrades’
violence at all times.
